Extra Coaching and a Free T20 Ticket!

Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game
- Michael Jordan

Each year, the Lancashire Cricket Board (LCB) run several coach education courses across the county to ensure that there are the high-level coaches necessary to meet the demands of junior players and clubs. One such course has been running at Myerscough College, with the assessment day occurring on Sunday 8th May (THIS SUNDAY!).

We have been asked to provide a number of players (a mixture of Under 11 and Under 13 players) for the day who will receive several short coaching sessions by coaches attempting to receive their Level 2 Coaching Award. Many of your sons and daughters will have received coaching by several Myerscough College Cricket Studies students who have been gaining experience during pre-season, and outdoor practice sessions, in preparation for their upcoming assessment.

As well as having the opportunity to receive extra coaching, each player that attends will receive a free ticket to a T20 fixture at Emirates Old Trafford.

With our Head of Junior Coaching, Andrew Fletcher, acting as one of the Coach Educators on the course, this is a brilliant opportunity for our players to demonstrate the hard-work, commitment, and skills they have shown week in, week out during pre-season and since moving outside.

Please send an email to gcc_junior@outlook.com ASAP if you would like your son/s or daughter/s to be involved in the day at Myerscough College on Sunday 8th May. There are spaces for between 12 and 18 players, so spaces are limited to a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.

Please arrive at Myerscough for 9.30am, with the day likely to finish between midday and 1.00pm. Depending upon the number of players attending, they will be rotated in and out of sessions through the day, so are not expected to be active continually. When not participating, they will be fully supervised.

Although there are vending machines available, it is advised that each child takes a packed lunch. If possible, please wear Garstang/cricket clothing on the day.

Andy will confirm, by email, the place of those players who let him know they are available first, as well as inform those who may reply once the spaces have been filled.
