The season is nearly here.....

Outdoor Training
Outdoor practices will start on Friday 26th April between 6.00pm and 7.30pm (from Friday 7th June, sessions will run between 6.30pm and 8.00pm) and will run until Friday 16th August. The bar will be open throughout with tea, coffee, crisps, sweets and chocolates available from the kitchen, so please feel free to stay and socialise. Fully qualified and experienced ECB coaches will deliver all sessions, with further support provided by senior players and parents.

As part of developing our coaching provision, we are pleased to welcome Greg Bishop and Punit Bisht to The Club. Greg, who works for the Lancashire Cricket Foundation as a Cricket Development Officer will be the Lead Coach for the Under 11s, whilst Punit is our first-ever Oversees Professional and will be working across the age-groups. Punit is looking forward to sharing his extensive knowledge gained from playing over 200 first class games in India with our young players.

As part of our 2019 delivery, the junior coaches have created a ‘practice curriculum’ that provides a structure and focus to training by taking a long-term view of player’s developmental needs. Built into the plan are ‘Masterclass’ sessions which will see senior players support coaches to deliver topics including opening the batting, bowling spin, and wicket-keeping.

All playing kit is available for the various age groups (i.e. pads, bats, helmets), but players are more than welcome to bring their own. It is advised that players wear suitable sports clothing and shoes (please see below regarding official Garstang training wear). Please ensure all kit and clothing is clearly named or initialled.

Training Groups for 2019

All Stars Cricket (ASC)
We will once again be delivering All Stars Cricket at The Riverside in 2019 with sessions on Sunday mornings to increase the safety and space available for the groups to use. This year’s 8-week programme will commence on SUNDAY 12 MAY at 10.00am.

To register your child to attend the ASC sessions at Garstang, simply visit https://allstarscricket.co.uk/garstang from where you can follow the registration links and pay online.

Information and Consent Forms
To ensure we maintain accurate and reliable records of all players registered with The Club, please complete and return (by email if possible) the junior Consent Form that has been sent to your email (including those registered for All Stars Cricket).

Without a completed form, your child will not be able to participate in any training sessions or matches.

Thank you for your continued support of the volunteer coaches who give up their free time to support the young players at the club.
