Way back in 1948, a stock of pre-war cricket gear was retrieved from a dusty attic, the wicket on the old Show field was put back into playing condition again and the old wooden hut was repaired, and a few friendly games arranged: Garstang Cricket Club was back in business.

In 1949, joining the Bilsborrow & District League playing in mid-week, they soon got a taste for more, and in 1950 they were accepted into the Lancaster & District League to play in Division 4, the first season saw promotion to Division 3, followed by further promotion to Division 2 in the1951 season.

In this year, enough interest had been created and a second team was entered in Division 4, five years elapsed before the first team were promoted to Division 1, during these early years much work had gone on to improve facilities, and in 1957 saw the pavilion dismantled and moved over the old railway embankment onto the current ground

In 1969, an application for the two teams to join the Blackpool Palace Shield Competition (presently Moore & Smalley Palace Shield Competition) was made. In the 1970 season this was accepted, playing in the ‘B’ and ‘D’ Divisions.

In the early 1970’s a Junior section was formed, over the years this has been a great success and has helped produce many players who have played in the senior sides.

In 1993 a third team was formed, playing for two years in the Fylde League, before joining the Palace Shield.

2015 saw the introduction of women's and disability cricket at the club ensuring that the opportunity to play cricket was there for all.

2016 will see the club enter a 4th team for the first time in the clubs history enabling young players to continue their development from junior to senior cricket.

After winning the Palace Shield Premier Division in 2017 for the first time in the Clubs history, Garstang CC became the first team to receive promotion from the Palace Shield to the Northern Premierl League following establishment of a link between the two leagues. 2018 saw the club embark in their first season in the Northern Premier Cricket League finishing a credible 6th place. This was followed up the year after with a runners up position and winning the NL T20.

In 2019 the club and committee took the decision to have the club's first Professional. Punit Bisht was recruited and was an undoubted success on and off the field, scoring 1600 runs in 36 games at an average of 53, including 6 100's.
